Team Building

Students get to know the different core types of team members and assess their own personality types - strengths and weaknesses analysis of core and learning styles - profile analysis of teams - teams development - team leadership opportunities, depending on the team structure and purpose - motivation of team members - recognizing, classifying and resolving conflicts - the potential of using conflicts productively - feedback (the mark of a successful team). Implementation of a concrete practical project.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

Applying the course syllabus through exercises and performing application related tasks. Applied methods including macro and micro levels of teaching. Macro methods are case studies-cum-analyses, debates, discussions. Micro methods are keynote lectures, dialogues, text analyses, presentation of examples and discussions. Students work individually as well as in pairs or groups, sometimes in the plenum.

Learning outcome

The graduates of the course "Team Building" will be able to classify the different core types of team members and put together different teams in order to better integrate themselves into teams and lead them effectively. This is done primarily through a concrete practical project. Furthermore, the students will be able to examine conflicts in the team and develop strategies to cope with them.
