Erasmus Student Network & buddy system

In 2007, an Erasmus Student Network (ESN) section was founded by students of the UAS BFI Vienna with the support of the International Office. It is part of the Europe-wide Erasmus Student Network to promote networking and exchange among international students.

You like to travel? You are an organisational and communication talent and always wanted to have friends all over the world?

All students of the UAS BFI Vienna can join ESN. Together you organise events and trips for and with our international students, make contacts and gather important experiences for your future professional life.

The buddy system at the UAS BFI Vienna

One of the main tasks of our ESN section is the organisation of the buddy system. A "buddy" as a personal advisor helps the guest students to quickly find their way in the new environment and study situation.

The buddy should be the first point of contact for our guests (also known as incoming students) if they have any questions regarding travel, public transport in Vienna, student life at our university or formalities regarding their stay in Vienna.
At the same time, the buddy activity offers the opportunity to engage in intercultural exchange with guest students and to improve your foreign language skills.
This is an important topic for us in the sense of "Internationalisation at Home". In this way, we make intercultural exchange possible for those students who are unable to spend a semester abroad.
It is not uncommon for lasting friendships and international networks to develop as a result of buddy activity.

If you would like to do a semester abroad yourself during your studies, the buddy activity will earn you additional points for your application!
