Residence conditions
Depending on your nationality, you may need a visa to study in Austria. Please ensure you inquire about the regulations that apply to you in good time.
Austria has a registration requirement, which you must fulfill within 3 days. For a longer stay (more than 3 months), you must apply for a registration certificate at Magistrats-department 35.

Accommodation
The University of Applied Sciences BFI Vienna does not provide student accommodations, but Vienna is a student-friendly city offering a wide variety of housing options, such as student dormitories, private rental apartments, or shared flats.

Nationals from the EU and the European Economic Area are allowed to work in Austria without needing a work permit.

Austrian Language and Culture
We offer free German courses at various levels for our international students!
There are courses for beginners, intermediate, and advanced learners, which start every semester (in October and March). Classes take place at our main location on Wohlmutstraße 22.
If you are interested, please contact Lisa Klauser, who is responsible for organizing the courses. During the first session, the course instructors will determine your level of proficiency.
