Once all applicants have completed the admission procedure, we will notify you by e-mail about whether we can offer you a place and, if so, send you a copy of the education contract. Places on the various degree programmes are awarded on the basis of performance in the respective admission procedure. If you return the signed education contract and transfer the student fee for the first semester in time, your study place is secured. You must submit any original certificates related to your application before the degree programme starts.

Applicants for bachelor programmes
If you meet one of the following admission requirements for our bachelor programmes, you are welcome to apply right now:
- Austrian secondary school-leaving certificate or vocational matriculation qualification or
- General university entrance examination for social and economic sciences or
- Foreign equivalent of any of the above Austrian certificates or
- Subject-relevant apprenticeship or graduation from a school for intermediate vocational education (BMS) with supplementary exams in English and mathematics
Applicants without a secondary school leaving certificate (Matura)
If you do not have an Austrian secondary school leaving certificate and are applying on the basis of your relevant professional qualifications, you must take supplementary examinations as part of the admission procedure.
Each bachelor programme will list which supplementary exams are required. We also inform you by e-mail which exams you need to take and when the exams are held. The supplementary exams need to be taken in addition to the admission procedure and before the degree programmes start.
Applicants for master programmes
If you have already completed a bachelor programme and also meet the programme-relevant admission requirements, we are looking forward to your applications! Each master programme will list which supplementary exams are required.
Applicants with degrees issued outside Austria
Please have any documents not issued in German or English translated into one of these two languages, and upload the translation on the application portal together with the original document. Depending on the state that issued your documents you may need different legalisations. The Austrian Federal Ministry for Education, Science and Culture legalisation list provides detailed information on documents that require certification.
If you have any questions regarding specific admission requirements for holders of foreign school leaving or degree certificates, or non-EU/non-EEA certificates, please contact our Admission Office. We will inform you about the supplementary examinations you are required to take. You must sit these examinations in addition to the standard admission procedure and before the start of the degree programme at the UAS BFI Vienna.
Applicants from third countries (non-EU/non-EEA countries)
Applicants from outside the EU/the EEA are welcome! The student fee is EUR 363.36 per semester (+ EUR 20 Austrian Students Union fee and thus is the same as for EU/EEA citizens. However, third-country applicants who have also met their admission requirements in a third country, will be charged a deposit of EUR 200 during the submission of their application. This deposit will count towards your student fee in the first semester if you are admitted as a student to one of our degree programmes. If you do not become a student at our university, we will refund the deposit after the admission procedure has been completed.
Applicants with disabilities or chronic diseases
We highly value a barrier-free access to the insitution and to our degree programmes. Please contact our our staff members in charge of diversity issues to find out how we can accommodate you and your special needs in the admission procedure. Please note that if you are aiming for an admission procedure mode that diverges from the standard procedure (e.g. more time), a specialist report must be presented.
