  • Outline of constitutional and administrative law and European law, focusing on the specific nature of the various legal acts, on selected fundamental rights, and on fundamental freedoms
  • Fundamentals of the European regulations on banking supervision and their implementation in the Austrian Banking Act, the organisation of financial market supervision authorities in Europe and Austria
  • Basic knowledge of the European regulations on the supervision of credit institutions, the basics of licensing regulations, the regulatory standards for banks and money-laundering regulations, the organisation of financial market supervision, the functioning of direct creditor protection through deposit insurance and investor compensation schemes

After successful completion of the course, students can

  • correctly classify entrepreneurial activities in Austrian constitutional law and according to Union law requirements, recognize administrative problems
  • communicate effectively with legal advisors about these activities and simple procedures without legal assistance
  • discuss the requirements of banking supervisory law and address them in a targeted manner in advisory situations
