Recruitment & redundancy management
Types of recruitment (internal, especially external: recruiting). Definition of requirements and pre-selection. Search: procedure and channels of recruiting (advertisements, HR consultants, HR marketing,...). Short-term and long-term search strategies. Basic selection methods and their areas of application: structured interviews, ACs, test procedures. Problems of selection methods and objectification. Methods of separation management: termination, dismissal, amicable solutions, outplacement.

Learning outcome
Students are able to evaluate personnel needs and initiate measures for the procurement and selection of potential employees. They know the most important tools of modern recruiting, such as structured interviews, assessment centres, etc., are able to conduct separation interviews and carry out separation measures such as termination, dismissal and amicable separation in a legally and personally correct manner. They are also familiar with measures such as social plans and outplacement and are able to assess when these measures should be used and how to initiate them.
