Introduction and basic terms, forms of training and further education, apprenticeship training, comparison of personnel development and organisational development (incl. introduction to various personnel development and organisational development measures), feedback and promotion interviews, individual further development plans (various career forms), succession planning, competences and competence management, organisation of personnel development in the company, introduction of new employees, separation management, foreign assignments, mentoring, coaching, introduction of various leadership styles.

Lecture of contents from theory and practice by the lecturer as well as participation in group work, self-reflection, etc.

A final written examination covering the entire material of the course (70 P.) as well as cooperation points for reflection task (15 P.) and small group work (15 P.).

Learning outcome

After completing the course, the students are able to name the basic instruments of personnel development and know the modern alternatives to hierarchical employee careers in companies, especially in the area of project management. Furthermore, the students are able to interpret the results of potential analyses and draw conclusions for career planning. They have the ability to identify which competences of the employees are decisive for the future of the company, to record the competences available in the company and to propose and implement necessary measures for efficient personnel development.
