Learning outcome

After successful completion of the module, students can:

  • outline the basics of development cooperation,
  • differentiate between approaches of international political economy and apply the historical-spatial analytical framework of the theoretical concepts for the EU,
  • analyse and reflect on the consequences of the upheavals of international political economy in an international context,
  • discuss and reflect on areas of application of international political economy for Europe along the lines of development of social mobility, upward mobility perspectives and the disciplining of low-income strata.
