Learning outcome

After successfully completing this course, students will be able to

  • describe current trends and opportunities resulting from advances in information and communication technology in the areas management, inte¬gration and automation of business processes (e.g. robotic process auto¬mation, machine learning, process mining) and illustrate their effects,
  • describe the effects and possibilities of increasing digitalization for the management of projects and programs,
  • describe alternative/non-classical approaches to managing large pro¬jects, programs, portfolios or organizations (e.g. scalable, agile approaches) and illustrate their respective advantages/disadvantages and contexts of use,
  • identify and analyze the requirements and challenges of transformation schemes in the direction of increasing digitalization and/or “agilization” and flexibilization of an organization in a specific case study, and
  • understand and analyze the requirements for managing such schemes (projects, programs) and design suitable management for them.
