Specialisation: Applied Labour Law

The specific teaching contents are determined by the project-specfic topics. Possible contents could, for example, include:

  • Interdisciplinary perspectives on specific and legal questions in HR Management
  • Restructurings (maybe with international aspects) with consequences for businesses and companies in Austria, including the termination of employment contracts
  • Questions and problems regarding (the also transborder) data protection, applicable laws, (the also international) responsibilities and supervision
  • Work conflicts and social plan measures
  • Cooperation with social partners and labour market authorities
  • Legally effective termination
  • Personnel leasing
  • Protection of insolvency payment

After successful completion of the course, students can

  • apply Austrian, foreign, European and international labour law in the context of projects
  • analyse a complex legal case that is related to different areas, requiremnents and responsibilities of HR Management by means of the methods of a case study
  • apply interdisciplinary perspectives in this context
  • develop solutions for specific legal problems with business and company stakeholders and cooperation partners from different areas of social and economic life
  • reflect on the case study work from a legal and subject-specific perspective, from a process perspective and from a group-dynamic perspective
  • present and explain the acquired results and insights to different experts from the areas of labour law and HR Management
  • deduce measures from the acquired insights and experiences for the design of HR Management
