Legal Aspects of Atypical Work

  • basic questions of labor, social security and tax law in connection with flexible employment relations and project work,
  • classification of contracts as employment contracts, freelance contracts or contracts for works and possibilities of flexible contract arrangements (e.g. time limit on individual employment conditions, transfer proviso, transfer of time sovereignty to the employee, revocation and modification provisos, target agreements, performance-related pay)

After successfully completing this course, students will be able to

  • classify the work and services contracts of (project)staff as employment contracts, freelance contracts or contracts for works, and
  • anticipate the legal consequences of the most important alternatives of flexible contract arrangements from labor, social security and tax law perspectives or evaluate them if the legal situation is uncertain.
