Presentation Techniques

Brief description

This course consists of an introduction to guidelines for successful presentations and the role of body language. This course offers the knowledge and skills needed for structuring a speech/presentation, fundamentals of argumentation and sensible use of media. Furthermore, the structure of target-group-oriented presentations, various possible presentation structures, the use of different media for visualization, personal appearance and the role of body language as well as rhetorical issues regarding presentations will be discussed in the course.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

Applied methods including macro and micro levels of teaching. Macro methods are case studies, analyses and debates. Micro methods are keynote lectures, cooperative learning and pitching methods. Students work in groups or in the plenum. Academic success depends on the presence of the students in the lectures.

Learning outcome

After the successful completion of this course the students will be able to present themselves or companies adequately and to defend their interests in negotiations with regard to their goals. They will be able to differentiate between methods in this field, such as rhetorical guidelines, and confidently put them into practice.
