Digital Production

The course examines the entire process of digital production of script analysis on pre-production, production and post-production, with special attention to the needs of VFX producing and supervising. Furthermore, the subjects concept design, pre-visualization, planning, costing, ("production breakdowns") production in VFX film components in various genres (including opening and closing credits design) and cross-media media production explained to compositing and finishing broadcast customizing, screenable products will be expounded.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

Applied methods including macro and micro levels of teaching. Macro methods are case studies and analyses, analysis of digital film production, debates and discussion. Micro methods are keynote lectures and discussions. Students work individually as well as in the plenum.

Learning outcome

The students will have detailed knowledge of the structure and processes of digital production of film, television and media productions along the entire production chain through preproduction, production and postproduction. They will be able to analyze screenplays, format and graphic concepts for cross-media media production under VFX aspects, develop them together with appropriate technical and artistic contacts (e.g. script and art directors) and plan and calculate the economic and technical aspects at all stages. The students will be able to independently carry out smaller crossmedia VFX Projects as VFX producers and can be used in large-scale productions as VFX production assistants.
