Oral Master Exam / Colloquium

Brief description

Independent preparation, application and implementation of presentation techniques, transfer of knowledge from the studies, in particular from the written master thesis, to the oral exam situation, independent classification of the specific topics of the master thesis within the over-arching context of European economic policy, training in argumentative defense and discursive further development of one's own points of view.

Learning outcome

After successful completion of the module, students can:

  • present a complex issue with reference to the knowledge acquired through the preparation of the Master thesis in a scientifically sound manner in a short time by means of a presentation in front of a board of examiners,
  • independently justify the results of the Master thesis and the methodical procedure and defend their argumentation against criticism,
  • apply the knowledge acquired in the course of studies and especially in the Master thesis in the field of European economic policy in a flexible, reflective and practice-oriented manner,
  • place the subject or selected aspects of the Master's thesis in an overall subject-related context,
  • independently discuss or answer overarching contexts, questions and problems in the field of European economic policy on a scientific basis,
  • reflect on proposals or work results with regard to political, social and ethical implications,
  • generate further scientific questions from the results of the Master's thesis in a scientific dispute with the board of examiners.
