Abstract:

Online teaching generates ever-growing amounts of data which - in compliance with data protection and ethical responsibility - enable detailed analyses of teaching and learning processes and thus also the improvement of teaching and learning quality. The 3-year project pursues two overarching goals: Firstly, the potential of learning analytics to promote and motivate learning will be harnessed for teaching; secondly, the gender- and diversity-sensitive observation of study progression and learning processes will expand the range of courses on offer for heterogeneous student groups.
