Introduction to Political Science
Brief description
Students are familiarised with a wide range of political science topics: - the relationship between political ideas and political interests, and their impact on political decision-making - politics and constitution - populism, extremism and terrorism - democracy and dictatorship - the political science systems approach - various methods of political science work.

After successful completion of the course, students can - Reproduce the main aspects of political science problems and distinguish them from everyday political understanding - Describe and illustrate the main theoretical principles - Describe political science problems - Explain political developments - Apply theoretical models to simple practical examples - Interpret scientific texts, to identify and evaluate their statements - Trite own texts according to scientific criteria - Formulate scientific arguments
