Welcome Week and Buddy Programme

Shortly before the start of each semester, UAS BFI Vienna’s Incoming Mobility Coordination organises an online information session for all new incoming exchange students. During the information session, you will receive information about UAS BFI Vienna’s facilities and how to use them, are made aware of the university’s rules and regulations and receive advice about public transport and residence registration.

On the first day of the semester, all incoming students are invited to attend the Welcome Day where you have the chance to meet your fellow exchange students as well as UAS BFI Vienna’s Erasmus Student Network (ESN) team. On this day, you will also receive your student ID and enrolment certificate and will learn about the Welcome Week activities. After the Welcome Day session, incoming students can join an ESN team member to buy the public transportation ticket together.

During the Welcome Weeks – the first two weeks of the semester – the International Office and ESN organise many activities for incoming exchange students that will enable you to get to know your fellow students and explore Vienna and Austrian culture.

As incoming exchange student you can also sign up for the university’s buddy programme (during application). Buddies are local students who offer assistance to incoming students before and during their study abroad period in Vienna.
