Information and consent to the processing of personal data in the alumni database

1. Controller of data processing

The University of Applied Sciences BFI Vienna, Wohlmutstrasse 22, 1020 Vienna (herein "UAS") (for contact information refer to item 6) processes the personal data you provided in the course of the online application as a controller.

2. Purposes and legal bases of the processing

The processing of the data provided by you is for the purpose of establishing contact, in particular for the transmission of information and invitations to events of the UAS, including graduate surveys, as well as sending the alumni newsletter and job offers from partner institutions of the UAS to you.

Legal basis for this is your consent. You are not legally or contractually obliged to disclose this information and may revoke your consent at any time.

3. Recipients of your personal data

The data you provided will only be processed by staff of the UAS. The data will be disclosed to other recipients exclusively for the purpose of complying with the UAS legal obligations.

4. Storage period for your personal data

The information you provide will only be processed by the UAS for as long as necessary to achieve the purposes set out in point 2 and as required by applicable law. In any case, the UAS will store the data provided by you until the expiry of limitation periods of potential legal claims or as long as required by statutory retention requirements.

You can revoke this consent at any time by letter or e-mail to the address listed under point 6, so that the processing of your data from the date of receipt of your revocation is no longer permitted. The legality of the processing of your data until the revocation remains unaffected by your revocation.

The revocation of consent does not affect the right of the UAS to handle your personal data in the scope permitted by law or any other legal provision.

5. Your rights as a data subject

According to the applicable law, regarding your personal data you have the right to

  • access, rectification or erasure, restriction of processing, objection and data portability. These rights can be exercised vis-à-vis the UAS (for contact information refer to item 6).
  • lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority (in Austria: Austrian Data Protection Authority).
