After successful completion of the course, students can:

  • present and interpret international politics and foreign policy in a structured way on the basis of theories
  • describe the different dimensions of security
  • recognise central norms of written international law and customary international law
  • describe state strategies to exert pressure on other states
  • distinguish between lawful and unlawful strategies of states on the basis of criteria
  • explain current violent conflicts and crises in a sustainable way.
