Current Trends in Digital HR Management and Labour Law

The contents of the course focus on current questions related to HR Management. They can, for example, include the following topics: • Ethical dilemma, goal and role conflicts in HR Management and their individual labour law-related implications (e.g. fiduciary duties, confidentiality obligations) • Classical and current HR business models and labour law-related obstacles or facilitation during the implementation • Digital capability maturity models and assessment approach in the revised European Social Charter and the European Pillar of Social Rights • Further specific teaching contents related to current topics of digital HR Management and labour law, in connection with research and Master thesis topics (e.g. shareholder vs. stakeholder value, output vs. outcome of HR services, (digital) diversity and internationalisation, dissolution of time, place and contents in the employment contract, flexibility in the employment contract, altered accepted standards and related expectations in the employment contract)

After successful completion of the course, the students can • plan and realise alternative forms of information-gathering with special regard to guidelines concerning data protection laws, personality rights and works constitution laws; process and present the results afterwards • describe current trends and challenges of digital HR Management and labour law • formulate questions for sustainable digital HR Management and the related legal challenges • research, process and present the current state of the scientific literature and the state-of-the-art implementation in practice related to these questions
