Ingrid Pleschberger, BA BA MSc

Head of International Office

Ingrid Pleschberger has headed the International Office at the University of Applied Sciences BFI Vienna since 2016 and her research focuses on metacognitive aspects of intercultural competence (assessment & moderation, thought process & behaviour): There is empirical evidence that intercultural competence and metacognitive skills are closely linked. In the field of higher education, where we aim to foster the development of future leaders and professionals in a globalised and rapidly changing world, there is a lively debate on how to integrate the promotion of international and intercultural competence development into curricula, study programmes and institutions.

With international partners, the interdisciplinary group (cognitive science, political science, philosophy, sociology, psychology) is using the findings to develop a methodological framework for assessing the reflective functioning of intercultural experiences.
