Communicative teaching: The objectives are work and everyday situations at the following levels: Spanish without previous knowledge (A2), Spanish with previous knowledge (A2/B1), Russian without previous knowledge (A1/A2), Russian with previous knowledge (A2). Planned learning activities and teaching methods

Communicative approach under consideration of the four language skills: listening, reading, writing, speaking (interaction and production). Exercises with practical examples, discussions, role plays, simulations, pair work, group work, class discussions. Exercises in Moodle.

Continuous assessment (students are assessed on their assignments, participation, speaking and listening skills and a written exam)

Learning outcome

After successful completion of the course students without previous knowledge (A2) can actively use phrases and the most commonly used vocabulary when necessary, make short, simple messages and announcements, and understand simple personal letters. They can come to an understanding with others on simple and routine tasks, where a simple and direct exchange of information on familiar topics and activities is necessary. They can describe personal and professional activities using simple linguistic structures, and write short and simple notes and messages. After successful completion of the course students with previous knowledge (A2/B1) can give simple instructions, compose letters and other documents (e.g. complaints, project reports, company profiles, product info), and discuss familiar topics in professional language. They are able to compose simple personal letters (e.g., travelogues, leisure plans etc.), carry out simple correspondence and write e-mails, converse on topics such as housing, health, hobbies and work.
