History, institutions, and legislative procedures in the European Union, in particular contents of the most important policy areas, as well as links between political science and economic approaches in relation to issues of the European Union.

After successful completion of this course, the students can: - combine theories from political science and economics - identify and examine problems from an interdisciplinary perspective - interpret scientific texts and derive and evaluate central statements - research and evaluate empirical facts - develop and evaluate scientific arguments - prepare scientific seminar papers. The learning outcomes of this course contribute mainly to the following (international) programme learning outcomes: LG: 2 / LO 2.1.
