Master Thesis Tutorial

Brief description

Strategies to find and select adequate literature, overview of different approaches in philosophy of sciences and implications for methodological approaches, presentation of selected quantitative and qualitative methods, elaboration and discussion of a disposition including a well-focused research question and a description of research methods. The students start to work on the master thesis.

Learning outcome

After successful completion of the course, students can write a research proposal (including a focused research question and methodology), which is an adequate basis for the work on their master's theses. They have the competencies to retrieve and analyse relevant and current scientific literature and to use it for their work adequately. Furthermore, the students are able to apply relevant scientific and empirical methods and to draw correct conclusions based on empirical findings.
