The crisis in Europe has led to accelerated processes of spatial reconfiguration. The final outcome of the crisis in Europe is yet unclear. However, the paper aims to discuss ongoing processes of spatial reconfiguration and future European developments. Based on an integrative approach which combines post-Keynesianism and critical political economy perspectives possible scenarios and the preconditions for them to realize are presented. In addition, implications for development strategies in Europe are evaluated.
