Students will be able to create a professional talent management program for organisational excellence; to formulate useable competency catalogues built on an underlying, tailored competency model; to use performance appraisals for identifying talents; and to to define sustainable succession and career planning systems.

After successful participation in the lecture students will be able • to explain the economic rationale for talent management in todays working world • to explain different Talent Development methodologies • to differentiate the pro and cons of inclusive and exclusive talent management approaches • to explain the elements of a Strategic Talent Management System • to differentiate and explain the roles and responsibilities of HR and Line Managers in Talent Management • to understand and list the different components of a Talent Management Strategy • to build a competency model for defined jobs/functions using a competency dictionary • to create competency based interview sheets and use the Behavioural Event Interview Technique
