LOCATION COMPETITION AND REGIONS

Conducting intensive research in this field was initiated through a project sponsored by the Viennese Support of Universities of Applied Sciences -Fachhochschulförderung 2005- “Chances and Perspectives for the Viennese Economy in the context of the European Region Central (CentroEurope) - a trans-disciplinary approach for a regional development in the knowledge society“. The aim of the research project was the preparation of concrete, convertible tools for the economy and the public area of the CENTROPE region. Since then the University of Applied Sciences BFI Vienna has established itself as a competent institution providing research in the area of location research on a regional, national and international level. Relevant questions for this field are questions of location and investment terms, location criteria, location search, location assessment, location development and location competition. On the one hand, investigations can refer to regions (e.g. Black Sea region), and on the other hand, they can also relate to specific questions of single enterprises or institutions.

  • Investment terms and market entry in different areas / countries of the Black Sea region (Azerbaijan, Georgia, Russia-Krasnodar, the Ukraine, Romania, Bulgaria, Moldavia and Turkey) and other Emerging Markets (in particular China and India)
