Family Manages Education:

FH bfi Vienna Awarded “Family-Friendly University” Certificate

It is more important than ever to juggle work, family life, and education. The FH BFI Vienna clearly demonstrates its competence in this area.
As one of the first Universities of Applied Sciences in Austria, the FH BFI Vienna was awarded the certificate “Family-Friendly University“ by the Federal Ministry for Economy, Family and Youth on 21 December 2012. The award ceremony was hosted by Federal Minister for Economy, Family and Youth, Dr. Reinhold Mitterlehner.

Several aspects which facilitate the combination of work, studies and family have already been surveyed and extended by specific measures, in order to enable successful certification. Students, staff, and executive board were involved in the investigating and surveying process.
Dr. Helmut Holzinger, CEO of the FH BFI Vienna is convinced that the successful certification reflects the corporate culture within the FH.

It is the aim of the FH bfi Vienna to enhance understanding and acceptance of the manifold aspects of life and to point out viable alternatives at work and at university. In keeping with the label of a “Family-Friendly University“, the FH also supports faculty and staff.
Since the FH was founded in 1996, the number of employees has been rising steadily to 102 (at the moment of writing), and more than 1,800 students in all bachelor and master programmes taken together. With its ECTS Label and the Diploma Supplement Label, the FH BFI Vienna stands for high-quality university education also at an international level.

With the additional motto “Family Manages Education”, the FH emphasies its claim to form Europe’s top executives also in this sensitive area.
